Committee (WiE) is a standing committee of the Federation of African Engineering Organizations (FAEO). Its purpose is to collaboratively bring together, empower, inspire, encourage, and share the achievements of women in engineering and technology around Africa. We believe that equality, diversity and inclusion in the engineering and aligned sectors is crucial to creating a sector which can address the challenges that exists in the African continent. African gender equality and women\u2019s empowerment is integral to the success of each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and we aim to inform debate, and use the power of engineering and technology to achieve equality of opportunity for all.<\/p><p>We believe that it is only by ensuring the rights of women and girls across all the goals that we will get to justice and inclusion, economies that work for all, and sustainability of our shared environment now and for future generations. The WIE secretariat is currently being hosted by the Ghana Institution of Engineering after taking over from the Nigerian Society of Engineers in January
